What to do as an Erasmus student before arriving in Seville

As an Incoming Student of the Faculty of Tourism and Finance (Facultad de Turismo y Finanzas) of the University of Seville, you should know how our University works in managing the Erasmus Programme. The administrative and academic duties of our University are well defined:

The International Relations Office

Iis in charge of the Enrollment procedure, clicking on this you will find the link “Access to Applications”. Our International Relations Office will give you the code to access to this online application once you have been informed that you are going to study in the University of Seville as an Erasmus student. The International Relations Office will also provide you with those administrative questions connected with managing the Erasmus Programme. For any query connected with these matters, you should get in touch with our Office staff: relint21@us.esrelint19@us.es.

We will be able to inform you about your acceptance in our University, Lodging, and our University’s Welcoming Ceremony, among other general questions. The Faculty of Tourism and Finance is not in charge of lodging, and although you will receive information from the International Relations Office about this matter we recommend you to consult this link, where you will be able to find lodging information.

The International Relations Office will also send information about Spanish courses and the possibility of attending other language course in the Instituto de Idiomas (Language Institute) of the University of Seville. You can consult this page about language courses offered in the University of Seville. The International Relations Office (relint21@us.esrelint19@us.es) will be the one to provide you with information about these matters, not the Faculty of Tourism and Finance.

Faculty of Tourism and Finance

To get to know our faculty we recommend this video in Spanish/English at this link. You will get to know our installations, our classes, the secretary’s office, and it will help you to recognise the Faculty when you arrive in Seville.
For any academic question connected with the subjects of the Tourism Degree and Finance and Accounting Degree, your University should have a DepartamentalCoordinators at the Faculty of Tourism and Finance. Please, click on that document in order to see who will be the person in charge of you at the Faculty of Tourism and Finance. These coordinators can inform the incoming student of any question that may be of interest in the framework of the Erasmus Programme, and will be the contact data for your Home University.

You should also know that the institutional person in charge of the Faculty of Tourism and Finance is the Vice-Dean of International Relations, María Rosario González. However your contact link at the University of Seville is your Departamental coordinator. You have to contact his/her for any information you need related to your erasmus stay at the Faculty of Tourism and Finance of the University of Seville.

Once you have been nominated as an Erasmus student, you should follow these steps to prepare you Erasmus stay in our University:
Enroll in the University of Seville enrollment procedure via our International Relations Office, as mentioned before.

Finance and Accounting Degree

Study plan (Spanish)

Syllabus courses (Spanish). Clicking on this document, you will find the subjects or modules taught in Spanish that, as an Erasmus student, you can attend in the Finance and Accounting degree. It is very important to know that you cannot attend classes taught in Spanish from the first academic year. You can choose any subject from the second, the third and the fourth academic year.

You can not choose the optional subjects that are offered in the fourth year.
Important: As an Erasmus student, you cannot choose the PRACTICUM subjects, or the End of the Degree Project – these are in the fourth year.

Syllabus courses (English). Clicking on this, you can get to know the subjects taught in English in the Finance and Accounting Degree. The number of courses taught in English will be updated by June of each year. You are allowed to attend courses taught in English, even when these courses are in the first academic year.

For the subjects in English, a limited number of places are established for Erasmus students. Therefore, if when you go to do your registration there are no places in any subject, you will have to choose another.

Academic Calendar/Timetable. You must know the dates of the beginning and the end of each four-month term. All the Information is contained in the Academic Calendar link which will be updated by June each year. In general, the Academic Calendar is the following:

  • First Four-month Term: the last week of September–the second week of February.
  • Second Four-month Term: the third week of February-the second week of July.

We recommend you to be in the University of Seville at least one week before the classes begin. It is necessary to remind you that before arriving at the Faculty of Tourism and Finance in September, you must go to the International Relations Office (avenida Ciudad Jardín – no number, Centro Internacional de Postgrado – International Postgraduate Centre) for them to sign your arrival date. Only in this way will the Faculty of Tourism and Finance have proof of your arrival.

Timetable

Before arriving at the University of Seville, you must plan which subjects you are going to choose in the Finance and Accounting Degree (FICO) and also the timetable and the group in which you are going to study these subjects. In order for the subjects chosen from the different academic courses not to overlap, you must consult the link Timetable which will be updated by June each year.  In this way you will be able to check which timetable, and therefore which group (classroom), is better for you for the subjects chosen.
You will have to have planned your studies and timetables before arriving at our University.

Exam dates

By June, you will also know the date of the exams of the first four-month term (1C FICO) and the second four-month term (2C FICO). It is advisable for you to be familiarised with this Exam Date link, as having chosen subjects from different academic courses, there may be more than one exam on the same day. If this happens, you must, when you are already in the Faculty of Tourism and Finance, communicate this matter two months in advance to the Secretary’s Office of the Faculty of Tourism and Finance. Only in this way will the date of the exams that coincide on the same day be able to be changed.

Spanish courses in the instituto de idiomas

In September you will receive information about your rights to receive this course.
You can consult the page https://institutodeidiomas.us.es  about the language courses offered in the University of Seville. The International Relations Office (relint21@us.esrelint19@us.es) will provide you with information about these matters and not the Faculty of Tourism and Finance.

What to do as an Erasmus student once you have arrived at the University of Seville

When you arrive in Seville you must follow these steps and in this order:

  1. Go the the International Relations Office in the avenida Ciudad Jardin –no number, in the Centro Internacional de postgrado (international Postgraduate Centre).  You can ask for the “Gran Plaza”, which everybody knows and the office is just a few metres away. Once there, you will be given an official form which will be for your “Enrollment Form”. Please, click on “Enrollment request” to see this official form.
  2. Contact your Department Coordinator assigned to you in the Faculty of Tourism and Finance. In DepartamentalCoordinators you will find the contact data of your Coordinator in the University of Seville. As you know, this person will be able to help you with academic questions: the programmes and contents of the subjects of your degree. The Coordinating Lecturer will be the one in touch with your Home University.

I have finished my Erasmus stay in Seville: what i have to do

Once you have finished your Erasmus stay in the University of Seville, go to the International Relations Office for them to sign your leaving date. Mª Isabel Fernández is the Head of International Mobility (Internal Relations Office) and she will sign your date of arrival and leaving of your Erasmus stay.

Transcript of records

The International Relations Office will send the qualifications of the subjects that you have studied directly to your Home University.
